Event description

Description

Be amazed by our inspirational speakers and topics in the first speaker session on Day 2 of AMAZE.

Life after privacy (Chris Dancy). The internet is now covering people, homes, cars, and families. As developers, corporations, media outlets and governments race toward the most intimate parts of our lives, behaviour and biology how can we start to live in a world after privacy has vanished. Time and attention create a new definition for privacy and our tolerance for inconvenience is the gold standard for which services are delivered.

Artificial Intelligence - dispelling the myths and accelerating towards the next frontier (Michael Blumenstein). Michael will speak about the current trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI) both in research and industry. He will clarify the real nature of AI and will dispel some of the myths, which seem to be gaining traction in the media. He will also highlight some of the cutting-edge AI technology developed at UTS, which includes research undertaken in collaboration with industry.

The machine-to-machine economy (Dilan Rajasingham) The Fourth Industrial Revolution will usher in an era of radical automation, with billions of connected, smart machines interacting with humans and with each other and generating a growing share of global GDP. As the Internet of Things converges with artificial intelligence, a growing population of smart, connected devices will eventually operate autonomously, creating new business models and new value in the process.
