Event description

Description

Join artist Larissa Costa and create your own sculpture using discarded books. The workshop will focus on books as a medium to produce art works. It will focus on reusing and recycling discarded books to create sculptural works.

For this workshop Larissa will teach participants how to fold and/or cut the book pages in different patterns to create different designs combining basic concepts of sculpture and collage.

Larissa Costa is a Brazilian born paper artist and designer who has extensive experience in hosting a range of creative workshops for adults, youth and children. Her love with paper and altered books started after she was commissioned to do the 2012 National Year of Reading book sculptures for Kogarah libraries. Since then she has facilitated several workshops across Sydney including Waverley and Kogarah libraries.
