Description

Upon successful completion of this course registered nurses (conditions apply) will be accredited to train and assess nursing and medical staff in advanced life support in their workplaces for three years. The following topics are included in this training:

  • Principles of adult learning, assessment methods, communication and feedback.
  • Understanding resuscitation
  • Pathways to assessment
  • Assessment of knowledge, technique and guideline compliance in Advanced Life Support
  • Assessment of knowledge, technique and guideline compliance in post resuscitation care
  • Moderated assessment pathways
  • Administration responsibilities

Educator: Tracy Kidd

Tracy has a background in emergency and critical care nursing in both metropolitan and regional settings. She has been in clinical education roles since 2000 in both the hospital and tertiary setting and has been the Australian College of Nursing represtentative on the Australian Resuscitation Council since 2013. She has completed a masters of nursing science with a focus on clinical nursing education. She endeavours to make learning interactive and seeks to positively impact clinical practice through continuing nursing education.
