Event description

Description

One of the broader aims of the Allied Health Team is to upskill school staff to support students in their learning journey. Specifically, when working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory needs, intellectual and physical disabilities or those experiencing/ed trauma.

This one-day seminar is designed to be interactive and give participants an opportunity to hear examples, ask questions, engage in activities and discussions aimed at strengthening their current understanding when responding to challenging behaviour. Throughout the day, our therapists and support staff will share their experience and knowledge in their chosen field to illustrate concepts, strategies, and practice. The seminars will run in succession, with breaks throughout the day.

The day will address concerns as they relate to sensory processing, emotion regulation, executive functioning, movement, and communication.

The seminar is suitable for pre-school, primary, secondary and specialist teachers (including Pre-service, Graduate, and CRTs) in Catholic, Government, Independent, and Specialist schools. Parents, carers, and health professionals will also benefit from attending.
