About this Event
When: 1-1.30 registration, 1.30-3.00pm stations set up, 3.30-4.30pm Inflateable 4-5pm BBQ
Where: Most of the event will be outdoors (weather permitting) so please remember to be sunsmart
What you need: You will need bathers, towel, sunscreen, hat, if you want to clothes to swim in (on top of bathers), a smile
What to expect: there will be fun, informative stations set up around pool deck. Participants will move from station to station in small groups with a staff member. Some of the things we will do include, rescues, lifejackets, beach safety etc.
Why: Everyone should learn basic water safety. According to research children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are 160 times more likely to drown than their neurotypical peers.
Families are encouraged to attend, just please be aware that the outdoor pool will be for participants only until the start of free time. Families are welcome in the water during free time or they can enjoy the indoor pools until free time starts.
We will have a sausage sizzle running which will cost a gold coin donation to the Belgravia Foundation. We will also have some local services with stalls so families can chat with and perhaps find some new support services.
