Alexander and the Animals:
Ancient historians and naturalists alike have always marvelled at the extraordinary way Alexander the Great relied on animals all throughout his lifetime, and now you can too. Whether it’s his famous horse and trusty companion Bucephalus, his reputation as a fearless lion tamer or the terrifying war elephants he encountered in battle, you’ll be amazed to learn about the ingenious ways Alexander incorporated animals into his campaign across Asia. This workshop includes behind the scenes tours of the Museum’s own live animal collection, and your very own personal interpretation of what animals Alexander would have used if he waged his campaigns in Australia.
