Event description

Description

Mark Gregory examines the life and cultural legacy of Albert Lancaster Lloyd.

At the age of sixteen Lloyd was shipped out to NSW where he worked as a station hand. He returned to Britain during the height of the great depression, along with a wealth of stories about Australia and what would turn into a lifetime interest in Australian folk songs. When Lloyd returned to Australia for a concert and lecture tour in 1970, he was an internationally respected folklorist who left an indelible mark on the popular folk song movement in Australia.
