Description

The brand new Indonesian film Kartini is coming to Canberra! The incredible true story of Indonesia's feminist heroine will be screened for one night only Saturday 27th May! Don't miss the exclusive Australian tour of this landmark film!

Starring Dian Sastrowardoyo (Ada Apa Dengan Cinta?) and directed by Hanung Bramantyo (Soekarno, Rudi Habibie) this film tells the story of Kartini's journey to become a pioneer in the area of education for girls and women's rights in Indonesia. The film will have English subtitles so tidak apa apa or no worries if you don't speak Indonesian!

The screening will begin with a short discussion by special guest speakers on the legacy of Kartini. Speakers to be announced soon!

Early bird tickets will be available from 21st April until the 1st May.
