The Australian Institute of Physics, Victoria Branch, invites you to join us for a public lecture by Dr Helen Maynard-Casely, the 2019 Women in Physics Lecturer.
"How Neutrons Will Save The World" is a fun and educational presentation. Discover what neutrons are and how they’re being used to research and solve some of the world’s most grand challenges. This trusty particle can be called on to discover the details that no other can fathom. From the shape of a virus and how a drug can disable it, to keeping electrons flowing in the next generation of batteries. Neutrons truly are today’s super particle!
Dr Helen Maynard-Casely is conducting a whirlwind tour of all 7 states of Australia in celebration of receiving the Women in Physics lecturership in 2019. On 27th August 2019 we are delighted to welcome Helen to Victoria, the last state on her tour, for an exciting evening of science.
