About this event
Led by our Geriatric Syndromes Working Group Co-Chairs Dr Caleb Ferguson, A/Prof Louise Hickman and Dr Chris Middlemiss, this webinar will deep dive into frailty research being conducted by leaders in the field. The webinar will consist of three presentations followed by a panel Q&A. Professor Ruth Hubbard, Dr Benignus Logan, Professor Richard Lindley and Dr Jai Mehta will be presenting.
Presentations
Professor Ruth Hubbard and Dr Benignus Logan - "Frailty and Chronic Kidney Disease"
Dr Logan and Prof Hubbard will speak on frailty and how it is measured, before specifically exploring what we know about frailty in kidney patients and what the future holds.
Dr Jai Mehta - "The Western Sydney Clinical Frailty Registry: First Year Outcomes"
The Western Sydney Clinical Frailty Registry aims to obtain a representative cross-sectional view of patients with frailty and their management at Blacktown Hospital. Dr Mehta will provide an overview of first year outcomes.
Professor Richard Lindley - "Frailty and Dementia"
Professor Lindley's talk is about the intersect of dementia and frailty, and why new thinking will be required if we are to make an impact for older frail Australians.
