In this series of four workshops with Dennis Frost, we will explore a range of topics relevant to home care providers who support people living with dementia in the community, and also their carers.

Wednesday 12 August - Session 1: Introduction to Dementia Awareness

Wednesday 26 August - Session 2: Sensory Impacts of Dementia

Wednesday 9 September - Session 3: Language and Communication

Wednesday 23 September - Session 4: Putting it together – Identifying Challenges and Developing Strategies

Each 1.5 -hour session will run from 1.00pm to 2.30pm and comprise a 45-minute presentation by Dennis with plenty of time for questions and conversation.

Dennis Frost is a member of Dementia Alliance International and also the Inaugural Chair of the Southern Dementia Advisory Group in Kiama NSW. This group guides the Dementia Friendly Community pilot project between the Kiama Council and University of Wollongong with which Dementia Australia were also involved nationally. Many consider this to be the gold standard dementia friendly communities project globally. Dennis is also involved in various dementia research and education projects that support people living with dementia and their carers to enjoy a better quality of life.
