Weekly 1.5 hour art class. Because of the after school time, focus is more on youth but everyone is welcome. Will also aim to do more group tuition if possible.

WHO SHOULD COME:Anyone who wants to learn art. Tuition is individualised and caters to beginners, intermediate and advanced pupils.Adults and children welcome.

WHAT TYPE OF ART DO WE DO:All types of painting and drawing.All mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolour, ink, graphite, charcoal, pastels, coloured pencils, etc.All genres including figurative, portrait, landscape, still life, abstract, etcCan also do printing (by hand/etching press), sculpture, photography, etc.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:Everything is taught with the view to increasing technical knowledge so it becomes automatic and you can focus on being creative. This might be as simple as holding a pencil correctly or the science of how paint works and interacts with mediums and surfaces. It is NOT really complicated, it just means you understand all your materials and techniques better.Depending on your needs, experience and current project you might be taken step by step through exercises to teach you a specific skill or given feedback as you work.As a group we might provide feedback on someones work.Everyone has their own area to work in.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING:Your art materials and something to work on.If you have no materials or want to try something new you can pay a small additional fee to have materials supplied.

ABOUT THE LOCATION:Karinya Vale is in the Gold Coast hinterland, really not far from anywhere on the Coast. (15mins Helensvale/Nerang, 20mins Ashmore, 25mins Robina, 30min Southport, 45min Logan)Located on 7.5 lush acres in a quiet valley making it perfect for plein air painting (horses available to paint/draw).Large studio set up with tables, easels and some art materials.
