Ras Jahknow and Sona Productions are excited to announce the THIRD AND FINAL show for the International, multi award winning artist from Ghana, Afro Moses Ojah, on the Victorian leg of his National tour.

Kindred Studios in Yarraville are playing host on Sunday July 2ndto Afro Moses and Asanti Dance Theatre who have been wowing audiences at events both locally and Internationally and are Australia’s leading African dance company.

Both artists are powerful, dynamic performers who consistently enchant audiences with high-energy music and powerful messages. Afro Moses Ojah's showmanship and colourful stage presence, along with his multi-instrumental abilities invites every audience to interact with the band, which creates an amazing atmosphere. The stage shows guarantee to uplift, transport, inspire and move all involved. Dance, jump, sweat and shout!

Born in Ghana, Afro Moses Ojah hit the charts as a teenager and is labelled as The African James Brown. Later, he was taken to Denmark, where they lapped up his infectious music. From there, he started touring the world and has stunned audiences right across the globe.

He has shared the stage with some incredible artists such as Ziggy Marley, Youssou Ndour and many more. A multi-award winner Afro Moses has won awards such as best song, best album, best live act and has been twice voted as Ghanas best International Music Ambassador in 2000 and 2002. He was also involved in the performance and composition of music that featured on the short film Inja that was a nominee in the 2003 Oscar Awards. Afro Moses is a singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and teacher of music. A natural performer, whose star quality shines and pulls audiences in like a magnet.

Asanti Dance Theatre, have been delighting audiences at a variety of events including Woodford Folk Festival, the Australian Dance Awards, Sydney Opera House, and headlining New Years Eve at Federation Square.

Joined by international guest artists from their company in Ghana, the group specialise in traditional and contemporary African dance, music and acrobatics. The company display an extensive skill set with undulating torsos, flips through rings of fire, raw energy, exhilarating dance moves and phenomenal acrobatics.
Directed by Appiah Annan (Sidney Myer Creative fellow and internationally recognised dancer, choreographer and musician), the company have been working extensively in Melbourne over the past 7 years. With a sister company in Ghana the company have toured regionally, nationally and internationally and perform in a variety of contexts including festivals, schools, corporate, community events and in theatres.

Ras Jahknow has spent time in numerous countries abroad, developing a rounded, cultural understanding, and through the Ras Jahknow Band, he aims to bridge the contemporary gaps in cultural understanding and unity. Ras Jahknows contribution to music in Melbourne has seen him lead his band through numerous fetivals and become an important part of the rich and diverse fabric of music in this town. The band also scooped up awards in the Australia Reggae Radio's Reggae on the Red Carpet Awards held in April this year, for Best Reggae Performer and Band of the Year.
