Description

The UWA Africa Research Cluster and UWA African Students’ Union invite you to celebrate annual international Africa Day 2017. This year our Africa Day event will reflect on African women’s leadership roles and contributions to securing sustainable African futures.

The event commences with networking and refreshments accompanied by live entertainment by a diverse range of performing artists, poets and musicians, including Zico Afro Dance, Saynab Ali, Marie Barrere-Collet, Zee Ibrahim and Yahye Sheik-Abdi. We will then move into a panel discussion and audience Q&A on the theme of “African Women and Leadership” with a number of Perth’s own inspirational African leaders, including: Mary Chetcuti, Pearl Proud, Fadzi Whande and Alphonse Malumba.

Registration (free) essential by Thursday 25 May.
