Advocacy & Inclusion: How to Advocate for Your Child in the Education Years

Carer Gateway has invited special guests Family Advocacy NSW to present a free 90-minute Information and Connection session for parents and carers of children who are neurodivergent or have a disability. This session will be held online via Microsoft Teams, so join in from the comfort of your own home!

The session will include a short, interactive information session from Family Advocacy NSW on Advocacy & Inclusion: How to Navigate and Advocate for Your Child Living with Disability During the Education Years.

This informative webinar is designed to equip you with the tools to advocate effectively for your child. You will learn proven advocacy strategies and explore real-life stories that illuminate what inclusion can look like in everyday life – at school, in the community and beyond. You will have the chance to connect with other families, ask questions, and walk away with resources you can use immediately. This will be followed by a Q&A session and further information on Carer Gateway’s Inclusion and Advocacy coaching groups that you can join to further improve your advocacy skills.

This is a great opportunity to connect with Peer Facilitators and Coaches from both Wellways Carer Gateway and Family Advocacy NSW, who have lived experience of caring for children and family members who are neurodivergent or have a disability. You will also gain information on the free supports and capacity-building services that are available to families and carers through both Carer Gateway and Family Advocacy NSW, including upcoming online and face-to-face workshops, webinars, peer support and coaching groups, and how to access them.
