Event description
To discuss surgical safety advancements through a seminar with the VASM.

About this Event

In Victoria health care is associated with good clinical outcomes, however, patients do not always receive the best possible care and preventable adverse events are not uncommon in our hospitals.

The Target Zero report addressed critical areas that require improvements. Safer Care Victoria (SCV) works with patients and health services to take a patient-centered approach to quality and safety improvement. SCV also works closely with Victorian Audit of Surgical Mortality (VASM) , the Victorian Perioperative Consultative Council oversees (VPCC) and Royal Australasian College of Surgeon

(RACS) to address critical areas inpatient care that require improvements.

VASM is coordinating a seminar on the 19 February 2020 at RACS to discuss surgical safety advancements through a collaborative forum with the VPCC, SCV and other key stakeholders in the healthcare industry. One of our key note speakers for this event is Professor Stephen Duckett, Director of the Health Program at Grattan Institute and Emeritus Professor of Health Policy, La Trobe University.

Registrations closes on 14 February 2020. Download the program flyer.
