This workshop follows on from "Variant calling with Galaxy," where we covered the core concepts of detecting small variants (SNVs and indels) in human genomic DNA. Here, we will compare the performance of three statistically-based variant detection tools: Mpileup (SAMtools), Unified Genotyper (GATK), and FreeBayes.
