Description

The WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis is hosting a week-long course on Advanced Analysis of Linked Health Data. The course will be delivered by Professor David Preen the Chair in Public Health at the School of Population and Global Health, The University of Western Australia.

The course will run from 11-15 February 2019, and will comprise lectures and technical sessions. The course is suitable for individuals that have completed the Introductory Analysis of Linked Health Data course (or have equivalent knowledge) and who are proficient users of STATA, SPSS or SAS. Exercise solutions will be provided for all three packages.

Participants will need to bring a laptop with their preferred statistical software package installed. Assistance in the tutorials will be available for STATA and SPSS users (and possibly SAS if a sufficient number of users register).

Printed and electronic versions of the course material will be provided. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will also be provided. Topics covered in the course include:

  • Principles of advanced linked data analysis
  • Clinical population dynamics using linked data
  • Complex longitudinal designs using linked data
  • Case distribution studies using linked data
  • Risk modification and adjustment using linked data
