About this Event

YOU'RE ALREADY STRONG AND FIT ENOUGH TO START PARKOUR

Parkour is what makes you fit and strong, to do more parkour. I make every exercise catered to your individual skill level. You'll be noticeably more agile, resilient, powerful and overall more capable in no time.

YOU'RE THE RIGHT WEIGHT, AGE AND SIZE TO DO PARKOUR

Parkour is for every type of body. It's non-competitive and starts wherever you're at; it's your parkour. There's no comparisons necessary, no expectations to meet, no perfect body type for parkour. You're not competing against anyone, so there's no pressure.

AFRAID OF GETTING HURT? LEARN PARKOUR

It's important to understand the difference between fear that holds you back and fear that protects your health. If you're afraid of getting hurt, then go to this class and learn parkour. Understanding how to train parkour intelligently starts with understanding how to avoid injury at every level of your practice and progression. I want to be injury free and feeling good enough to do parkour for many more years and I want that for you too.

I BELIEVE IN YOU

You can do it. You'll be with supportive people improving their skills, and therefore themselves. Feeling a bit awkward or embarrassed while trying something new is ok, it'll make you stronger. The fun will take your mind off it anyway.

:)

What happens in class?

After a warm up we move off to explore some of Perth's best parkour spots. From there you'll be given exercises, experiments and puzzles to learn and fine tune foundational parkour skills. Expect to:

  • Practice and get feedback on the core techniques and principles of parkour.
  • Learn to link together moves to flow effortlessly with any obstacle.
  • Collaborate with other participants to create unique parkour challenges and combinations of moves.
  • Understand the process of breaking down challenges into small, approachable steps.
  • How to unlock creativity to keep training fresh and exciting so you're never plateauing, feeling stale or stuck.
  • Practice challenging yet satisfying conditioning exercises to improve your strength, agility and resilience specifically for parkour.
  • Play chasey!

Meeting point

Your first challenge is to find the meeting point, the top of the waterfall in the gardens. You can get there by following the water to the top of the park, or use this handy little link:

What to bring

  • Enclosed, comfortable shoes
  • Comfortable clothing that might get a bit grubby
  • Water - very important as you need this to live

See ya soon :)
