The good news is, as the market demands more from businesses, they are delivering more. In new technologies, higher quality, more value and greater competitiveness.


This free workshop is designed to showcase a range of technologies and learnings from businesses that have developed class leading technologies, how they have done it and, most importantly, how these can benefit your business.


You will learn about:

  • The importance of, and difficulties in, managing a remote workforce
  • Making the recording of information an managing risk a little easier to go paperless
  • Subtractive vs. additive manufacturing including new metal deposition technology
  • Generating and capturing ideas in your business helping to turn innovation into invoices
  • Using drones as operating platforms and navigating regulation.


Registrations open at 9:00am for a 9:30am start - 1:30pm

The event will be followed by a networking lunch.



Presenters


David Cole

David is a certifying engineer, former university lecturer, entrepreneur, visionary, and all-round good guy. He has run his successful engineering consulting business, DEC-MECH for over a decade providing engineering services including design, rapid prototyping with 3D printing, project management and packaged services such as project EPCM, with clients such as BHP and Glencore.

Continuing to raise the client service standard at DEC-MECH, David identified a gap in the market. Always innovating, he realised that he could use Drones to do highly specialised work, more accurately, over larger areas in less time. After adding Pilot to his already impressive list of qualifications. He brought together a small team of pilots and impressive airborne hardware, under the NQ-UAV business, this was later to become FlyFreely.io, and providing airborne mission management for a range of clients from one-off to QANTAS


Joe Hoolahan

Joe Hoolahan is the Founding CEO of JESI, a global journey management software business. JESI is an anywhere, anytime tool solving the mobile workforce challenge of helping enterprise understand where their employees are and if they are OK, and allows for real-time communication with staff teams from any location software business.
A champion of regional innovation, Joe played a founding role in developing an innovation centre for the Townsville Region in Queensland Australia where JESI is based. As testament to the ability for technology businesses to operate globally from any location, in 2016, JESI was the first regional business to receive direct investment funding from the Queensland Government under the Advance Queensland scheme.

Prior to establishing JESI in 2012, Joe worked as a business development and marketing specialist within the corporate training and sporting sectors. His experience includes working with established brands such as the North Queensland Cowboys and Tec-NQ with extensive connections throughout the regions of Queensland.



This is a free event hosted by the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science Entrepreneurs' Programme in collaboration with Ai Group and The Mastering Innovation NT network.

This event is designed to benefit small and medium Australian businesses.
