Adolescent Cannabis Check-Up (NCPIC)

This interactive workshop is suitable for anyone who works with clients who use cannabis and need a structured intervention. The intervention is comprised of an individual assessment session followed by a personalised feedback session delivered in motivational interviewing style. An optional skills based session is offered in relation to behaviour change. Participants will be taken through the intervention and familiarised with the material.
This training aims to:
- Enable participants to implement an evidence-based motivational enhancement intervention with their own clients.
- This workshop is most suitable for workers who either work opportunistically or who choose to provide a brief intervention.
- This intervention is for cannabis users irrespective of their treatment seeking status.
Please note: Participants will be asked to participate in a 3 month follow up.
Maximum of 15 participants per workshop with the prerequisite of a good understanding of Motivational Enhancement theory.
