Event description
AdaptNow - join us for a climate change hypothetical as we explore what you can do to prepare and adapt for a changing climate

About this event

When a chain of events occur, like weeks of extreme heat, with power failures and bushfire smoke impacting the metro area and storms that bring localised flooding, how would you and your community respond?

What would you do? How would you manage?

At these times services can be stretched and communities and individuals need to be more self-reliant.

How will you prepare? What steps can you take to help others?

Join us and a panel of service providers and community members explore a climate change hypothetical that will aim to both inform and entertain.

Learn how you can AdaptNow to a changing climate and create a more resilient community.

This event will also be live-streamed.

For details please visit: https://www.adaptwest.com.au/adaptnow or tune in via YouTube

This event will be held at the beautiful Woodville Town Hall . The Town Hall is a quick walk to the Woodville railway station and bus stop 221 on Woodville Road. The Outer Harbour Greenway provides excellent cycling and walking connectivity from Port Adelaide and Adelaide city. There is also ample car parking both over the road and behind the City of Charles Sturt Civic Centre and on surrounding streets.

Our COVID Safe Plan

There are changes to the way we conduct events due to COVID-19. We will ask you to confirm your contact details and health status on entering the event. If you do feel unwell on the day we ask that you do not attend. We hope this reassures you of our commitment to maintaining a healthy community so you can enjoy this event.

The AdaptWest Climate Change Adaptation Plan, developed collaboratively by the cities of Charles Sturt, Port Adelaide Enfield and West Torrens comprising the Western Adelaide Planning Region, identifies the real and specific implications of climate change; and provides realistic strategies for residents, businesses, organisations and agencies of our western community to get ready, to respond and build resilience to the present and future challenges of climate change.

This project was funded under the Disaster Risk Reduction Grants Program by the South Australian State Government and the Australian Government.

Views and findings associated with this initiative/project are expressed independently and do not necessarily represent the views of State and Commonwealth funding bodies.
