Program Objective:

PEPA is funded by the Department of Health and is aimed at preparing Australia's health workforce to deliver quality, holistic, person-centred and culturally responsive care to people with life-limitng illness.



Aim of workshop:

Develop an understanding of a palliative approach to care for people with a life-limiting illness and their families.

Target Audience:

Primary healthcare providers; Allied health clinicians, registered nurses, enrolled nurses and AINs.

Topics Include:

What is the Palliative Approach to Care?

  • How do you provide a Palliative Approach to care?

  • Who should provide that care?

  • How does ACT Specialist Palliative Care Service work?

  • What are the psycho-social & spiritual considerations?

  • What are the most common symptoms experienced and what is the management of those symptoms.

  • What should End of Life care look like & what is your role?
