The Australian Council of Learned Academies
invites you to the launch of
The Role of Energy Storage in Australia's Future Energy Supply Mix

The Australian Council of Learned Academies (ACOLA) invites you to attend the public launch of its latest Horizon Scanning report: The Role of Energy Storage in Australia's Future Energy Supply Mix.

Delivered in partnership with Australia’s Chief Scientist, Dr Alan Finkel AO FAA FTSE, this interdisciplinary report is the first completed in ACOLA's Horizon Scanning Series.

The Role of Energy Storage in Australia's Future Energy Supply Mix, examines the scientific, technological, economic and social aspects of the role that energy storage can play in Australia’s transition to a low-carbon economy. The study models different uptake scenarios; develops new insights into the economic benefits and challenges for Australian research and industry; assesses cradle-to-grave environmental and safety benefits and risks; and explores the social drivers and barriers to broad energy storage deployment.

The report will be launched at 11:00am on Monday, 20 November 2017 in the Senate Alcove at Parliament House, Canberra

Proceedings will include an introduction to the report by Expert Working Group Chair, Dr Bruce Godfrey FTSE, and an address by Australia’s Chief Scientist, Dr Alan Finkel AO FAA FTSE.

Refreshments will be provided immediately after the formal proceedings and will conclude by 12:00 pm.

Copies of the report will be made available at the launch and online at www.acola.org.au following the report launch.

You can join the conversation on social media via #ACOLAEnergy
