The Australian Council of Learned Academies
invites you to the launch of
The Future of Precision Medicine in Australia

To be launched by the Minister for Health, the Hon Greg Hunt MP, and officiated by Australia’s Chief Scientist, Dr Alan Finkel AO FAA FTSE, the Australian Council of Learned Academies (ACOLA) invites you to attend the public launch of its latest Horizon Scanning report: The Future of Precision Medicine in Australia

ACOLA’s Horizon Scanning reports are commissioned by the Commonwealth Science Council and Australia’s Chief Scientist to present timely interdisciplinary analyses that can guide decision-making through the decade ahead. This report is the second completed in ACOLA's Horizon Scanning Series.

The Future of Precision Medicine in Australia examines the current trends, technologies and applications in precision medicine as well as the role that broader implementation may play in the Australian context. The report explores important ethical, regulatory, social and cultural dimensions of precision medicine, as well as various aspects of big data, health economics, workforce training, public engagement and the inclusion of Indigenous peoples.

Registration will open at 10:00am and the launch to commence at 10:30am on Wednesday, 31 January 2018 at Eureka 89, Eureka Tower, Melbourne.

Proceedings will include an introduction to the report by Expert Working Group Chair, Professor Robert Williamson AO FRS FAA FAHMS.

Refreshments will be provided after the formal proceedings so that you can enjoy the view while talking with ACOLA and members of its Expert Working Group. Proceedings will conclude by 12:00pm.

Copies of the report will be made available at the launch and online at www.acola.org.au following the report launch.
