ACMS Presents the IBM Exhibition at the National Computer Heritage Centre

On the 14th of January, the ACMS in Conjuction with IBM Australia ran a 1.5 hour virtual event of the history of IBM in Australia in tandom with their 90th Birthday in Australia the proceeding week. This month the ACMS team is running 50 minute tours and interactive events to show the National Computer Heritage Centre and ACMS Member's Museum at our new home, 9 West Street Croydon.
Come and see microcomputers of Australia, talk to like-minded individuals, and catch a glimpse of the ACMS museum – a work in progress.
Curated by Peter Irwin and other members, this fascinating glimpse into IBM history and our existing retrogaming exhibit will engage both vintage and modern users alike!
In addition to the wonderful Australian Collection, IBM workstation and Mainframes, Punch machines and others on display, there is approximately 10 Functional computer exhibits will also be available for you to jump on and experience. Exhibits include Altair, Commodore, Amiga, Apple, Atari, Microbee, Peach, Sega and more! (Note: Due to the age of our exhibits systems may be swapped out at the last minute so we cannot guarantee your desired experience will be available at your session time.)
Spots are limited to just 15 people per session to ensure you get some time on a device – get in quick so you don't miss out!

Funds raised will support this event, member services, and help achieve the establishment of a permanent Australian Computer Museum.
Your $25 fee includes an ACMS joining fee and 90 day membership. A full extention to 1 year ACMS membership is avialable at an additional $36. This event is free to current members, and please reach out if you were a prior atendee to our Micro Museum in May 2021 who didnt get to experience their full members benefits for a discount.
Children's $12.50 tickets require a parent or guardian ticketted in the same event time. This fee is considered a donation.
*Please note – due to the ongoing works to the museum, part of the exhibit space is temporary whilst we raise funds to build the static museum. If you wish to donate to the Society you may do so on the day or via a direct donation(donations are fully tax deductible).
**** Due to the Covid concerns in NSW, we will facilitate tickets on a subsequent open day within 90 days if covid causes any concerns. We have also modified the cancellation policy but ask people to consider the charity and a donation to support us during this pandemic ****
