Description

Targeted at Undergraduate students enrolled at Monash University, the topic of the debate is "Accounting, as we know it, has lost its relevance".

Each team is required to choose a stand as a supporter or an opponent of this statment.

Who can participate?

The Accounting Week Debate is open to undergraduate students from all disciplines enrolled at Monash University. Each debate team must have three members and is required to appoint a team leader.

Important Dates:-

  • Team Registration Due:- Friday 4 August 2017

  • First Stage Submission Due:- 5.00pm AEST, Friday 18 August 2017

  • First Stage Results Announced:- Wednesday 4 September 2017

  • Final Stage Debate:- Wednesday 20 September 2017

First Stage (Report):-

  • 2,000 to 3,000 words

  • Microsoft Word or PDF format

  • 12-point size, either Calibri, Arial or Times New Roman font, with margins of 2.5cm

Final Stage (Presentation):-

  • 15 minutes for each team

  • Debate your arguments orally to a panel of judges

  • No handouts or written materials are to be sent to the judges as part of the evaluation process
