About this Event

For many students with vision, hearing, physical and/or sensory challenges, accessing the maths curriculum may be challenging within a mainstream classroom. This can have an impact on how a student can actively engage and demonstrate their understanding of numeracy skills.

For maths activities, modifications may be need to made to how the individual student completes the activity, the equipment and variables used and also the way that the activity is presented.

This workshop will address how to problem-solve number concepts, time, money, measurement, weight, addition/subtraction, conceptual (same/different, more/less, bigger/smaller). As a team, how can we problem-solve the student’s active participation and learning to ensure quality vs quantity and what the main goal of the concept that is being taught.

Free for all Victorian Government School Staff.
