Event description

Description

As a tourism operator or destination marketing manager, it is hard to imagine what it would be like travelling with an impairment or disability. Accessible travel is perhaps the travel industry’s greatest untapped opportunity. Today, there are literally millions of people worldwide looking for accessible travel options thanks in part to the ageing population. One in five people has a disability and 8 billion dollars per year is spent on Australian tourism by travellers with a disability. Essentially, accessible tourism means everyone can enjoy travelling, regardless of their abilities.

This free two-hour presentation
will provide tourism operators with an extensive ‘101’ on accessible tourism covering the size of market, what constitutes a disability, rules and regulations, steps to be taken and ways to assess your own workplace or offer.

Paralympian and Wangaratta local Mark Soyer will also be contributing to the discussion and available for questions.
