Description

Accessible Tourism Workshop

Visit Ballarat, in partnership with Parks Victoria, Travability and TEVE ( Tourism, Events and Visitor Economy), welcomes you to join the upcoming Accessible Tourism workshop. The two-hour event aims to empower business owners to disrupt the status quo surrounding accessibility for those living with a disability.

In Australia, more than 4 million people (equal to 1 in 5) live with some form of disability. For this reason, it is critical that businesses and tourism operators be conscious and more inclusive with their visitor offerings and experiences.

The workshop will demonstrate ways to create more accessible visitor experiences for people of all abilities. Guest speakers include:

- Nicole Healy, TEVE - The research and the opportunity

- Bill Forrester, Travability - Industry perspective and what businesses can do

- John Kenwright, Parks Victoria - Experience of an operator

- Paul Albone, TEVE - Where we are heading
