Event description

Description

Recommended for children 6-12 years. Join us for FREE afternoon tea after the films.

The AAAFF Children’s Program includes twelve exceptional child produced films from Australia, Spain, United Kingdom and Belgium and includes animation, documentary and live action films. The films have all been made by children aged 12 year or younger.

The child filmmakers handle some big themes. Journey, from Australia, is the story of a young girl who wants to find out where she comes from. Viral, a film by Spanish children, takes us into the world of cyber bullying. Snow Flake, from Belgium, inverts the story of Snow White with a princess rescuing the prince.

Two very special and relevant films have been included in the first AAAFF Children’s Program. Both productions are Australian and both reflect the lived experience of children with disability. Bishal’s Story is an autobiographical film by a young boy with a gift for storytelling. Sharing the challenges and opportunities he faces with humour and occasional frustration, Bishal’s Story is a compelling short film.

Sign Wars is production from Waverley Public School in Sydney. The film is entirely in Auslan with English subtitles. Sign Wars is a story about exclusion and bullying and is a film that every child should have the opportunity to see. It received the Bardic Studio Directors Award at the 6th Annual KidzFlicks awards in March this year.

Note: Noah's Inclusion Services will host a sensory screening for children with autism and sensory processing disorders and their familes on Wednesday December 6 at 5.45pm.
