Accelerating Innovation: power of the crowd
Event Information
Description
There is an increasing recognition and appreciation for the power of the crowd to solve problems, make decisions, leverage knowledge and talent, and predict the future. Organisations, individuals and even governments are crowdsourcing everything from design, marketing, administration, raising money and even tapping into the wisdom of the crowd for their strategies.
When done well, the crowd can be a powerful driver of innovation. Some call this "crowd-accelerated innovation" and we've seen this at a large-scale level with Wikipedia and the Human Genome Project. In this panel discussion, we'll hear from thought-leaders and entrepreneurs who have successfully harnessed the power of the crowd to drive innovation.
As we become more interconnected, the ability to harness the power of the crowd will become even more profound.
Each panel member will deliver a 5-minute lightening talk to inspire and supercharge the crowd before we delve into a facilitated panel discussion, followed by Q&A.
The panel will consist of:
Brad Krauskopf, co-founder of Hub Australia, the company behind Hub Melbourne and Hub Sydney.
Rick Chen, co-founder of Pozible, Australia's first and largest crowdfunding platform.
Tom Amos, co-founder of Sidekicker, a crowdsourcing platform for small jobs and errands.
