EXCLUSIVE WORKSHOP LIMITED TO 12 PARTICIPANTS

Course overview
This intense one-day workshop is designed to help you plan the trajectory of your startup business. Using Shoes of Prey as a case study, Mike will workshop strategies to fine-tune your business plan to achieve product-market fit. You’ll learn effective techniques to build product, establish your brand, reach customers and execute on your business plan. This is a very interactive program and you’ll receive input and feedback from one of Australia’s most successful startup entrepreneurs.

You will develop:

  • A robust business model and strategy for your startup. This program is an opportunity for you to consider if there are better, faster or more profitable ways to reach your business objectives.
  • The ability to effectively communicate your business plan to customers, investors and potential employees.
  • A marketing plan and a brand framework centered around who your customer is and why they care about your product.
  • The ability to engage with software engineers and / or manufacturers to ensure you build a scalable product on budget.
  • An understanding of how to execute your plan, prioritise and focus on what’s important and avoid the common pitfalls that cost founders years and hundreds of thousands of dollars.

This workshop is suitable for:

  • Entrepreneurs who are within the first two years into their entrepreneurial journey
  • Intrepreneurs who are developing a new innovative product within a larger organisation

About the instructor:

Mike Knapp is the co-founder of Shoes of Prey - the ‘design your own shoe’ company that raised $25.5m from investors such as Khosla Ventures, Greycroft Partners and Nordstrom. Mike was Co-CEO for a time, headed up the software engineering team and also spent 3 years in China overseeing the construction of the company’s multi-million dollar shoe factory. Today Shoes of Prey continues to operate from their headquarters in Los Angeles. Prior to Shoes of Prey, Mike was a software engineer at Google and, prior to that, a lawyer.

“We started working on Shoes of Prey 8 years ago. In that time, we’ve learned most of our lessons the hard way; basically falling down the stairs and hitting our head on every step. I’ve created this course because it’s something I wish had existed when we started. I want to give you a roadmap of all of the challenges you are likely to face, so that you’re well equipped to deal with them as they arise. My hope is that I will be able to save you months, if not years, of frustration, not to mention costly financial mistakes.”
