About this event

Early Registrations Now Open: Sustainability Education Summit - 29th - 30th September 2021 - NSW Parliament House, Sydney, Australia

As the world is becoming more aware of the growing impacts of climate change, environmental management and sustainability are coming to the fore of business interests. Good business management is now embracing environmental, social and corporate governance. But how do we best skill our teams and bring them up to speed with this new way of working?

The Australian College of Business Intelligence (ACBI) is a leading provider of vocational education for domestic and overseas students in the area of business and digital technologies, with leading-edge training responsive to current industry practice and guided by local and global responsibility. As part of our focus on social responsibility in business, ACBI run a range of tertiary courses in environmental management and sustainability. We are now expanding on this offering by launching a conference and in house training course series focused on corporate sustainability education.

The summit is in the first year of development but we've had a strong interest so far, and we are honoured to be joined by the following international keynote speakers in 2021’s launch year:

  • Stefanos Fotiou, Director Environment and Development Division, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific
  • Dr Rabia Ferroukhi, Director of the Knowledge, Policy and Finance Center, International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)
  • Samah Elsayed, Programme Officer, Renewable Energy Education, International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)
  • Dr Rodolfo Lacy, Director, Environment Directorate, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
  • Masaaki Nagamura, Head, Corporate Social Responsibility, Tokio Marine Holdings, Inc, a division of SwissRe Group

Over 2 in-depth and interactive days from 29-30 September 2021, the ACBI Sustainability Education Summit will be held in an innovative hybrid format, both physically at NSW Parliament House and online through an immersive virtual event platform. We look forward to bringing together 100+ sustainability, environmental, social, and learning and development practitioners to network, share case studies and new ideas, and benchmark best practice approaches to sustainability education.

This year’s inaugural event will feature case study presentations and advisory support from sustainability and environmental management leaders from organisations including:

S&P Global Ratings, Affirmative Investment Management, Officeworks, Sandvik, Interflow, Australia Post, NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, Linfox, Kilara Capital, Acuris Global, North Sydney Council, Aurecon, Visy Industries Pty Ltd, Alinta Energy, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Australian Association for Environmental Education, Walgett Shire Council, Liverpool Council, Centennial, Institute of Public Accountants, Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation Ltd, Meat & Livestock Australia, Icon Water, All Saints Anglican School Ltd, Tamworth Regional Council, John Holland, International Grammar School, and Telstra
