Academic promotions for women in STEM
Event Information
About this event
Dear Academic Women in STEM,
It has never been easy to rise up in academic career and even less so in the past couple of years with extra pressures of global pandemic on our lives and the university system. There is however light at the end of the tunnel and there is nothing impossible when right steps are taken at the right time. This online workshop is designed to discuss the challenges faced by many our colleagues in preparing for academic promotion: finding the right time to apply, preparing a strong application and ensuring the necessary level of support from supervisors and referees.
In this workshop you will hear perspectives from the successful UTS applicants of the past several years (A/Prof Irina Kabakova, A/Prof Willa Huston, Prof Stella Valenzuela) as well as promotions panel member (Acting Dean GRS, HoS of Biomedical Engineering Prof Joanne Tipper). This will give you the best advice on how to approach your application and tailor it towards your personal story, maximising your chances of success. This webinar will be particularly useful to those intending to transition from levels C to D and E, but everyone interested is welcome and certainly find the information helpful. The registration is free, just click on the button, fill in details, and join us on the 4th of February, 1-2.30 pm.
