Event description

Description

Fifty years ago the SA Parliament reformed the criminal law concerning abortion. In 2019 obstructions to women’s access to abortion services remain and parliament is again discussing reform. What’s happened since 1969? What are the current problems? Why will decriminalisation go only part way to ensure reproductive justice for women?

Speakers: Associate Professor Barbara Baird (Women’s Studies) and Associate Professor Catherine Kevin (History), Flinders University

The Centre of Democracy will be open until the beginning of the lecture.
