Event description
The 14-hour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid course is for any interested adult.

About this event

The 14-hour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid course is for any interested adult. You will learn how to assist an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence based action plan.

This course is based on evidence from the expert consensus of Aboriginal mental health professionals, many of whom also have lived experience of mental health problems.

Training is presented by Blackbirds Culture and supported and subsidised by the City of Swan.

Maximum of 2 representatives per City of Swan based community group, club or not-for-profit organisation to attend. Additional places available dependent on demand.

This is a two day training course 9am to 4pm on Saturday 22 May and Sunday 23 May, and includes morning tea and lunch for participants.

For any additional information please contact Caitlin Ciovica on 0427 573 517 or caitlin.ciovica@swan.wa.gov.au.
