Weave New Connections @ Café 25 with Tahnae
These monthly weaving workshops are run by local Aboriginal woman Tahnae Davidson-Bartley.
In these workshops you will learn about techniques that were taught by Aboriginal Elders, traditionally they used natural materials, you will learn how they were harvested and prepared.
You will learn how to start your work, how to secure the stitches and how to add more materials to increase the size or change the shape of your artwork. You will learn how to taper off, and close the weaving stitch.
Raffia will be supplied, but you are welcome to bring along some material that you think you may be able to weaving into your creation. You can come to one workshop, or you are welcome to join each workshop (bi-monthly) and bring your work along to continue on.
Cost: $7.00 per session. Book one to try or come every month!
