Event Details

Many good books are published about Australian art, but few change the way we see and understand it. When Andrew Sayers’ Aboriginal Artists of the Nineteenth Century appeared in September 1994, it did just that. This symposium will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Andrew’s book – exploring its impact and deepening and extending our understanding of its field.

Speakers include Tim Bonyhady, Aunty Joy Wandin Murphy, Carol Cooper, David Hansen, Nicholas Thomas, Philip Jones, Melinda Hinkson, Jonathan Jones and Andrew Sayers.
