EXHIBITION AND SALE OF AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL ART

CORK ST GALLERY CAFE, GUNDAROO Wednesday 6 December, 6.00 -8:00pm

You are invited to attend the opening of an exhibition of authentic Aboriginal artworks.

The exhibition will remain on display and for sale at Cork St Cafe and Gallery until Thursday 21 December.

Of the highest quality, all pieces are authentic items, signed and dated by the artist. The majority of pieces in this collection were produced during the 1980’s and early 1990’s. The collection includes large painted canvases (all framed), smaller framed paintings on paper or board, intricately painted didgeridoos and an assortment of ceremonial wooden objects and totems.

Many of the large 1220 x 930 or 1030 x 720, framed printed canvases are from the renowned Papunya Community, located about 300 km west of Alice Springs. Papunya artists in the exhibition include; Namarari (‘Tjalapa Dreaming’, 1984), Napangard (‘Woman’s Dreaming II’, 1988), Tjakamarra (‘Honey Bee Dreaming’, 1983). From the Kimberley region are several works by Tony Wumbaya (‘Kimberley Dreaming’, 1998). From Arnhem Land, works by Mick Kubarrku and a number of decorated didgeridoos and ceremonial poles 1.3m high, by various artists.
