Free workshop as part of Indigenous Business Month.
Learn about local government procurement and how to make the most of these opportunities for your business.
As part of our Eora Journey Economic Development Plan, the City of Sydney is committed to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses in our local area.
This free workshop is designed for both existing and budding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander small business owners wanting to take advantage of local government procurement opportunities.
Who is the workshop for?
The workshop is designed for owners and employees of small Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses that are:
- new businesses that have been operating for less than 5 years;
- existing businesses looking to diversify or grow;
- businesses looking to increase their knowledge of local government procurement opportunities (particularly those less than $50k in value);
- NSW based, with connections to the Sydney Local Government Area
What will the workshop cover?
The aim of the workshop is to give business owners an overview of the City’s procurement processes and offer practical advice on procurement. You’ll be able to ask City of Sydney staff questions about the procurement process and how to go about preparing responses, as well as finding out about other types of support the City offers.
You will have the opportunity to meet other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, and learn from examples of businesses who have successfully gone through the process.
Registrations are free but numbers are limited so please register by 20th October 2016 to avoid disappointment.
