Event description

Description

The University of Queensland is committed to increasing the representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in its Academic workforce.

Workplace Diversity and Inclusion, Human Resource Division, is seeking nominations from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Academic staff and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander RHD students to participate in a conversation to discuss academic career progression barriers and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff at UQ.

The conversation will be a culturally safe opportunity to share your experiences, career options and decisions, and describe what types of opportunities and barriers you have experienced in your career or RHD experience to date.

We will use this feedback to inform a working group which will report to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Steering Committee and will greatly assist UQ to develop innovative initiatives and interventions that are aimed at enhancing academic career opportunities and pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples at UQ. People who are involved in this initial conversation may also like to participate in the ongoing formal working group. We will talk about this as part of this broader conversation.

Your participation in this is greatly appreciated and lunch will be provided.
