This mini Medieval Festival will feature many of the experiences on offer over the weekend but with a special focus on making them friendly and engaging for the younger members of the family.
There will be opportunities to wander through medieval encampments to:
- meet re-enactors
- see armour and how its worn
- learn about different weapons (both hand held and large siege weapons)
- learn traditional crafts (beading, lucet braiding, calligraphy, leather stamping, coppersmithing, and more)
- listen to stories of knights in shining armour and fierce Viking warriors.
In the Kids’ Kingdom there will be art and craft activities for all to enjoy. While on the Castle Arena your family can play medieval games and learn to walk on stilts.
Our stalls will be open with plenty of items for the young lords and ladies of your household. Demonstrators will be showing off their skills so you can learn how leather and felt products are made, or see the artistry of medieval illumination.
Puppet shows are running, camels for riding, and plenty of animals to meet.
The day will also feature two joust sessions, two Turkish oil wrestling sessions and there will be archery for our young Robin Hood fans.
Come in your best costume and participate in one of the costume competitions (10am or 12pm) for the chance to win a VIP box to the following Joust (boxes seat 8 people).
