A Workshop Session on FAIR for Containers, Workflows and Software
Overview
FAIR for various research software artifacts, including containers and workflows, has been a topic of interest for research staff, platform developers and researchers across different research communities. Building on the continued interest, this workshop aims to create a common understanding of FAIR practices for various software artifacts. The session is planned as follows: session introduction, motivation for adopting FAIR for containers/workflows/software across multiple organisations, and background. A brief touch on the FAIR for containers draft and exploring possible practical pathways. Open discussion on pathways with topics including container aggregation services, research practices, and research platform initiatives.

Who should attend?
Research software engineers, researchers who code, digital infrastructure providers, research support professionals, and digital research trainers. Members from research communities are encouraged to join, including communities such as ARCOS, workflow, research Software, and ML4AU.
What participants will gain from the session?
Attendees will gain an understanding of FAIR for research software artifacts and current practices across the sector. They will be able to discuss and collaborate on forming a consensus of FAIR software practices.
