Description

The Analysis of the Elements - A retreat under the stars
‘Don’t neglect wisdom, preserve truth, foster generosity, and train only for peace.’ That’s what I said, but why did I say it?
And how does one not neglect wisdom? There are these six elements: the elements of earth, water, fire, air, space, and consciousness.

Dhātuvibhaṅgasutta MN140

From April 20th to 25th 2019, Bhante Sujato will be in Australia's epic heartland, skilfully taking apart the Dhātuvibhaṅga sutta also known as The Analysis of the Elements.

The spiritually charged Red Centre is an unmatched location to take refuge and unwind in the company of the wise.

*Lilla is an Aboriginal outstation community located in the Watarrka National Park. In the native tongue of the Luritja country, Lilla means sweet water and when in Lilla you will get a chance drink the best tasting water that has been filtered through the ancient beds of sandstone from underground springs. Accommodation is in a serviced camp site exclusively to the group.

**Kings Canyon is in the Watarrka National Park in Australia's Northern Territory. Sitting at the western end of the George Gill Range, approximately midway between Alice Springs and Uluru.

***Yulara is the service village for the Uluru-Kata Tjuta region, lying just outside the national park, 20km from Uluru and 53km from Kata Tjuta,

****Uluru, or Ayers Rock, is a massive sandstone monolith in the heart of the Northern Territory’s arid "Red Centre". The nearest large town is Alice Springs, 450km away. Uluru is sacred to Indigenous Australians and is thought to have started forming around 900 million years ago. This is one of the great natural wonders of the world.

*****Kata Tjuṯa, or The Olgas, is a group of spectacular, domed rock formations or large bornhardts and located about 60kms from Uluru. This is another sacred site for Indigenous Australians and is thought to have started forming around the same time as Uluru. This too is one of the great natural wonders of the world.

Watarrka National Park is located 1,316 kilometres south of Darwin and 323 kilometres southwest of Alice Springs. It contains the much visited Kings Canyon at the western end of the George Gill Range and Kathleen Springs—22 kilometres to the southeast of Kings Canyon. Watarrka National Park was established in 1989 and gets its name from the Aboriginal name of the land.

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National park is a dual World Heritage-listed park in the heart of the Central Australian desert, about 450 km from Alice Springs. The land is owned by the Anangu people and leased to Parks Australia, who manage the national park in collaboration with the traditional owners.
