The Warriors
Daphne Helena Keua Pihigia - Niue
30 year old Daphne Helena Keua Pihigia works as a Teachers Aide at the Niue Primary School, where she works one on one with children. She comes from the beautiful village of Tuapa in Niue. Although she was born in New Zealand, she always knew that she would move back to the islands to serve her people. “Living on a small island surrounded by the ocean, its a scary thing to look out your door during a cyclone and see waves rush in from the ocean as if to consume my home.”
George Nacewa - Fiji
29 year old George Guivalu Nacewa has dedicated a huge chunk of his life to volunteerism and youth empowerment. He is a trained facilitator for peace building and dialogue, and has worked as a Youth Facilitator for the Strengthening Citizen’s Engagement in Fiji Initiative, a program under the United Nations Development Programme. George is the 350 Fiji Coordinator and his biggest inspiration to continue his work in the climate movement is his daughter, nieces and nephews. He dedicates his life to the climate movement because of their futures.
“I see this as an opportunity to free my daughter, nieces and nephews from a future that they don’t deserve.”
