Event Details

“…one of the best jazz bands in NY today.”

Fuelled by the belief that classic jazz feeds the heart and soul, the Hot Sardines are on a mission to make old sounds new again and prove that joyful music can bring people together in a disconnected world.

In their talented hands, music first made famous decades ago comes alive through their brassy horn arrangements, rollicking piano melodies, and vocals from a chanteuse who transports listeners to a different era with the mere lilt of her voice.

The Hot Sardines have been featured at the Newport Jazz Festival and the Montreal Jazz Festival, have sold out NYC venues from Joe’s Pub to Bowery Ballroom and more than 150 tour dates from Chicago to London, and have released two albums on Universal Music Classics to critical raves and a No. 1 slot on the iTunes Jazz chart in the U.S. and internationally.

“Simply phenomenal, crisp musicianship going hand in hand with immaculate and witty showmanship.”

“Potent and assured.”

The Hot Sardines join us direct from New York City for their debut Australian performance, exclusive to Adelaide. Lead Singer Elizabeth Bougerol and Bandleader Evan Palazzo will perform alongside the top graduating jazz musicians from the Elder Conservatorium of Music.

Do not miss this very special evening in the Ballroom of the Hilton Adelaide, including beautiful food and wine, hosted by ABC Radio Adelaide's Ali Clarke.

More accolades for the Hot Sardines...

“[The Hot Sardines] have assembled a unique repertoire, and a sound and a style that are distinctly their own.”

“The charismatic front-runners of vintage jazz play big halls as if they’ve just dropped into a party.”

“Leaders of New York’s jazz revival.”

“They had won over the audience right from the start. The closing sequence had the crowd baying for more.”

“Elizabeth Bougerol, born in Paris, has a sweet and soulful voice that brings to mind jazz singers working in similar idioms, like Madeleine Peyroux and Cyrille Aimée.”
