Event description

Description

Collaborative consumption, P2P marketplaces and the disintermediation of traditional business models has given rise to what we broadly call 'The Sharing Economy'.

In this expert masterclass, we will discuss how The Sharing Economy has arisen to become a powerful force impacting all aspects of business and society, including the labour market, the way we travel and even our banking system and insurance markets.

Join us! We will explore the following topics:

- The history of what we call 'The Sharing Economy' and how it has shaped up into the powerful force it is today

- The different models and platforms that exist within the broader sharing economy definition and the problems they are trying to solve for

- The challenges posed by the various sharing economy operators and how society, regulation and ethics are trying to make sense of it all

- The opportunities that exist for start-ups, corporates and the government to take advantage of the sharing economy

- The practical implications of the sharing economy and what we need to know to position ourselves for the future

During this masterclass, we will have a keynote presentation by Melina Morrison (CEO, Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals and a Founding Director of Social Business Australia), followed by an expert panel discussion hosted by Scott Gunther (IAG Firemark Ventures) that will feature:

- Melina Morrison (CEO, Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals)
- Mitch Sweeney (CEO, ShareCover)
- George McEnroe (Founder & CEO, Shebah)
- Pete Williams (CEO, Deloitte - Centre of the Edge)

The event will run for approximately 90 minutes and will be followed by light refreshments and networking at the Stone & Chalk venue.

Keynote presenter bio:
