Description

Presenter: Nimal Perera – Nimal is the Principal Consultant and Proprietor of Kasina Consultants. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers, UK as well as the Institution of Engineers, Australia. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Structural Engineering, QUT. Nimal has vast international experience spanning Australia, United Kingdom, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Trinidad, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Brazil and Kazakhstan.


In his presentation Nimal will talk about the development of engineering technology during the second half of the 20th century through to the 21st century with examples of iconic structures that shaped the urban landscape of major cities of the world. He will use the rapid development and integration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics and its influence on design and construction of sustainable urban habitats as lens to peak into the future of civil and structural engineering.
