Event description

Description

You are invited to join well known Aboriginal leader, Donna Ingram, in a 90 minute "warts and all" WALK THROUGH REDFERN at 11 am on Sunday 20th August. Meet at Redfern Train Station at 10:45 am for an 11 am. Wear comfy walking shoes. The walk is wheelchair friendly.

Did you know 50% of Redfern's current residents were born overseas? Come and learn its unique history and see the impact of this multiculturalism through the eyes of Koori Elder, Donna Ingram. Bring your questions and cameras, and prepare to learn more about this lively neighbourhood, with its rich Aboriginal history, eclectic art precinct and ethnic eateries. This is a must for those inerested in learning some of Sydney' diverse - and often overlooked - social history.

Cost: $20 per person (to help pay for our guide). Registration via Eventbrite (Students will be refunded $10 at commencement of the walk. Subject to the presentation of a valid student ID).
